A multinational company operating in the chemical supply sector is looking to strengthen its team in Portugal with the addition of a Assistant Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting
- Prepare monthly financial reports (Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow) for the Executive Management Team, tracking performance against the business plan and operating budget.
- Provide weekly cash flow forecasts and credit line updates to the Financial Controller and CEO.
- Conduct commercial performance analysis by business unit, product, and sales team.
- Support the preparation and follow-up of annual audits.
Accounting
- Assist with the daily input of accounting documents (bank transactions and invoices).
- Support the resolution of accounting-related issues (e.g., incorrect invoices, pending credit notes) with suppliers and customers.
- Manage the transfer of invoices for factoring to the bank.
- Assist in reporting and following up on overdue customer invoices.
Finance
- Support the daily monitoring of currency positions and credit insurance.
- Assist in managing credit lines and factoring processes.
Other Responsibilities
- Proactively communicate any issues or concerns to the relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of reporting tools using SAP.
Qualifications & Skills
- Solid knowledge of GAAP
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- High sense of responsibility and attention to detail
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Dutch, French, or German is a plus
